Big Duck Energy Presents... Balls of Fun
Big Duck Energy is an all female and non-binary comedy night in Leeds. Winner of the 2025 Yorkshire Comedy Award for Best Independent Gig.
Arancini Productions: Balls of Fun
Whether it’s trying to find a dentist, work-shy pool attendants, or the Grim Reaper with a linguistic gripe, Arancini’s Balls of Fun presents life from a slightly wonky angle. Combining humour with poignant observation, expect a melting pot of wordplay where the mundane marries with the absurd in a mix of comedy sketches and spoken word brought to you by two middle-aged women who really should know better.

Arancini: Balls of Fun - nominated Best Comedy Show Buxton Fringe 2024
Arancini consists of Helen Rice and Sarah Carratt, who are both experienced comedy writers / performers. They have been performing together since 2023 and their first show was nominated Best Comedy Show at Buxton Fringe in 2024. Helen, who performs as Helen Rice is Showing Off, writes quirky songs and poems exploring life's essentials like grief and sex, drawing from her experiences as a bread-loving middle-aged disabled woman. She has supported acts such as Tom Wrigglesworth, Justin Moorhouse, and Nathan Caton, and co-wrote, co-produced and starred in Sheffield's legendary Fish Pie Cabaret. Sarah was part of I’ll Have What She’s Having, a sketch comedy act dedicated to fostering opportunities for older female actors and writers. As a writer, Sarah has had her work performed at the Crucible Studio, Sheffield; Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre; the Studio at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre; the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough and on BBC Radio Sheffield.
