Jonathan Hall
Jonathan's former life as a Deputy Headteacher at a northern primary school was a primary source of inspiration for his writing, allowing him to capture the authentic voices of school communities and the hidden lives of those within them.
Jonathan has established himself as a prolific writer for the stage, radio, and as a novelist.
His plays have been performed in theatres across the UK, including the Edinburgh Fringe, the Chelsea Theatre, and the Bush Theatre.
Jonathan is also the Chair of Script Yorkshire, an organisation dedicated to supporting and developing local writers.
His passion for accessible theatre and new writing has seen Jonathan take on the role as a co-producer of Slung Low Shorts which triumphantly returned last year at the Slung Low Warehouse.
His award winning BBC audio drama Trust - starring Julie Hesmondhalgh, can be heard on the BBC Sounds App, and his latest novel Murder on the Cornish Train is available from May 2026.
