Having trained at Bretton Hall College in the 1970’s, Rachel became Head of Drama at Kettlethorpe High School in Wakefield where she taught for 32 years!

During this time, she was also the director of Wakefield Youth Theatre for several years and had a brief stint with Hull Truck Youth Theatre.

She returned to Bretton to study for an MA in Educational Theatre in 1987.

In 2019 she became a founder member of SRM Theatre Company based in the Holme Valley. As well as small scale touring of their own original material, in 2025 they launched STEP FORWARD, a scratch event, at The Watershed in Slaithwaite.

When she’s not flexing her acting muscles she enjoys singing in a Soul Choir, walking, gardening and spoiling her two cats.
